Yes. All soap has lye in it. Lye is an ingredient that reacts with butters and oils in a process called saponification to create soap. Soap must be cured for a minimum of 6 weeks to ensure the lye is evaporated out of the soap. Products that are made without lye are called detergents and they have different cleansing properties than soap.

Yes. We use biodegradable glitter made out of corn cellulose. It dissolves when wet. Our glitters completely dissolve so nothing is left in the tub or on the skin.
